If you are registered customer with valid user-login. Go to the Redhat website and download the ISO image (RHEL is not free so you should buy)

No this is not entirely true. You can download RHEL's iso files for free, yes but the support is not free. You have to pay for it.

You can download iso files from <moderated>. They are bit large, you have to be patient for it.

That IS entirely true...you can register for an account on their website for free, and download for free.

And you SHOULDN'T download them from that site...downloading a commercial OS from a third-part site isn't a bright idea....download them directly from Red Hat.

What's going on here? There can only be one TBOne and that one is definitely NOT a Newbie.

OK, OK, Can the real TBOne please stand up? (or has something screwed up the names of the posters?)

Play Bonny!

By the way, does it have to be RHEL? For all its merits...there is money involved...
I - personally - advise against free use of a product that has a licencing model attached to it, but hey, that's just me...
I advice if it's for a commercial/enterprise environment, to examine the licencing model first and consider the OS from that angle, but again that's me... hehe
And, the real TBOne is the one with "guru" by his name... :P

Yes, apparently someone has created an account of the same name, with a period after it.

I'd go to the RedHat web site or contact the local rep for a set of disc's.

There is only one jefro no dot.

Downloading CentOS wouldn't be a bad idea either, as it is, by all accounts, RHEL without the branding.

That is incorrect. From Red hat:

Quote:

While CentOS is derived from the Red Hat Enterprise Linux codebase, CentOS and Red Hat Enterprise Linux are distinguished by divergent build environments, QA processes, and, in some editions, different kernels and other open source components. For this reason, the CentOS binaries are not the same as the Red Hat Enterprise Linux binaries.

As a unspoken rule, most of the users here do not help with links to RedHat for various reasons. A starter reason is that RHEL is copy protected.

TBone, your copied link still has that bad site.

You can download a evaluation of RHEL from the official Red Hat site. http://www.redhat.com/products/enter.../download.html

Thanks...I removed it.

RHEL is FREE, the only that you pay for a SUBSCRIPTION it's for support (includes patches, bug fixes, technical support). You must create an account and go to access.redhat.com there you will be download the product of Red Hat that you want.

For Red Hat doesn't exist the concept of "Licensing", here exist "Subscription" and they aren't the same thing. The license is the right to use the product, ex: MS Windows Server 2012. The subscription from Red Hat brings you the access to many other things, like: technical support (two ways standard or premium), you can move your subscription to any machine that you want, upgrade or downgrade your product any time that you want (without charges), patches, bug fixes and official documentation (technical documents and guides) of any Red Hat products (RHEV, RHEL, CloudForms, JBOSS, etc)
