How to divide hard disk space between Ubuntu and Windows

Hello,
I am installing Ubuntu next to Windows. To allocate the desired space to each system in the hard disk, which side of the box with the sliding partition corresponds to Ubuntu, left or right?

Thank you so much,

If Windows is installed first, reducing the end of the partition leaves Windows on the left and empty space to the right. In Vista you can reduce the Windows partition up to 50% in size. You need to let checkdisk run when you first boot into Windows.
