how to Disable one SoundCard

Hi guys,
I've got 2 soundcards, one is Creative X-Fi and the another one is Ac'97 combines with my motherboard, due to creative doesn't support X-FI Linux Driver, so Only one Soundcard can be used.

So How should I disable the Creative soundcard only use AC'97?

thanks a lot for any help

If you were trying to disable the motherboard soundcard, I'd suggest looking at your bios settings. There's usually a way to disable built-in systems there. But since you want to use the built-in version, the easiest thing I can suggest is to open up the case and physically remove the card you don't want to use.

If you don't want to do that though, you might also look into removing the kernel module that supports the card you don't want. I'm not sure what you'll need to do in detail, however.

either be rude and add modprobe -R nameofmodule into /etc/rc.local
or I do not where but there is on some distro a blacklist
blcklst or the like
/etc/modprobe.blklst (you would need to find the name of this()
in which you can ban module from loading
