How to disable graphical startup on RedHat Enterprise 3 firstboot?

Hi,

My XServer configuration is broken and the system always start at firstboot in graphical mode. I canīt see anything in the screen.

How to disable graphical startup on RedHat Enterprise 3? Or, How to switch from graphical to console mode ?

Thanks,

You can always hit CTRL-ALT-BACKSPACE to get back to console mode. However, you want to edit your /etc/inittab file. Look for the line that looks like this:

id:5:initdefault:

Change that 5 to a 3. That should boot you into console mode.

Hi,

I hit CTRL + ALT + F2 and login with console mode. After, I can restore a backup of /etc/X11/XF86Config file.
