how to detect daemon

Hi,

Some background
I am currently writing a program in C++ and it involves that this program should run
at the background. I am still experimenting though because I don't have lot's of experience with these kind of things.
A simple test I just made was a very trivial main of about 4 lines.
In here, I just call a make_daemon function from some lib and I let some loop make output
to the screen.

Problem
This test program was supposed to output something but it didn't.
Also I wanted to have evidence that the program I compiled and linked was
really running in the background.
ps -A did not provide me the information.

Am I doing a wrong command here ?

Regards.

try this
Code:
ps -aux | grep PROG_NAME
where PROG_NAME is the name of your program
