As the name of the website is Linux Questions, then it would be obvious that everyone is seeking help,
therefore "help me" as a question is rather pointless, try to be more specific.

As to your actual question:
Quote:

how to make a local repository from dvd
What have you tried?
What searching have you done?
What tool are you using?
When you say "local repository" are you referring to a copy on your hard drive, a svn repository, rsync, other???

Suggest : May be tell, which Linux you are using, like
Slackware 13 , CentOS 5.4 , Ubuntu 9.10 , etc. etc.

For knowing the Linux distribution you are using, type the following in your terminal (Mind the spaces in the following command) and post the output here:
Code:

uname -a && cat /etc/*release

i had to recently do this, you can probably change these instructions to fit your needs.
if you are using something rhel based, else some quick googlin usually gives me instructions for what i need.

baseurl=file:///PATH_TO_YOUR_PACKAGE_IN_DVD/
enabled=1
