how to creat a bootable USB of an iso in linux??
Hi,
I am using opensuse 12.1 in my desktop, i have to make dual boot with ubuntu. My DVD drive is not working. I have download a ubuntu iso image. how do i make a bootable usb from a iso image?? For dvd/cd we will burn iso image and write it in dvd!!! But how to make for usb pendrive/usb hardisk?? i have 4Gb pendrive/80 Gb hardisk if anyone knows, please tell me the steps??? |
Unetbootin works well with Ubuntu. You can use it from Windows or Linux.

For Debian Squeeze, installing on a Supermicro 5015A-EHF-D525 with AMI BIOS, I used cat <whatever>.iso > /dev/sdc on another system (where sdc was the UFD -- be very careful with this!!!) then:

unetbootin is the easiest for us newbies, you can either let it download the image & install it to usb or selct an already downloade iso image.
