How to connect to Internet via USB mobile broadband in slack-ware KDE
 
I am new to Linux .I am using ubuntu gnome desktop and i can connect to Internet via huawei e160 HSDPA usb stick easily.In Ubuntu network manager shows my broadband connection and by that i can connect.Few weeks back i install Slackware KDE desktop and still i couldn't connect to Internet.If sonme one know how to do it please let me know .

You would need to modify the chat script to change the APN and perhaps add lines if you need user and password to connect.

I just keep the pppd line in a little script that I run as root after plugging the modem and allowing time for the device to be detected and usb_modeswitch to do it's stuff.
At the end of a session I do, as root, 'pkill pppd' then unplug the modem.
