Reason: mobile phone, sms, smsserver, gsm modem
I just want the mobile phone or GSM Modem to connect to red hat through USB port, just like Nokia PCSuite driver or WaveCom GSM Modem driver in windows so that a connection is build to send and recieve sms.
i have came to know that following steps must be involved in red hat but i donot know how to perform,
1) identify to which port the device is connected i.e. like COM1 or COM...n in windows.
2) install/build the appropriate driver which can connects device and red hat.
thanks in advance.
If you do not get the drivers for the phone that you are using, then you have an option of using the nokia pc suite through wine. This might not be the best of the solutions but an option. For getting more help here, you could post the model of the phone so if anyone here is aware of the drivers, he/she can post.
You should not post these comments without knowing much about the people here. No one here is bounded to help you.
And as far as your problem is concerned, Nokia provides software suite for windows and hence windows is able to handle the phone. If you are not getting solution ready made, write the application yourself. But better not comment on the competency of the members here. This will put you in bad light.
