how to connect linux to internet without having ethernet are wireless driver for linu
 
hi i'm using toshiba laptop, i need to connect my lap to internet but i didnt found the linux based drivers for realtek ethernet. guide me!!!

Hi and welcome to LQ.
I don't think you need any drivers for the ethernet. What distro are you using (Ubuntu, Mint, Fedora, etc.?)


Can you open a command line interface (terminal/konsole in menu) and type:
/sbin/ifconfig + enter

If you can paste what it says.

ubuntu has most wireless drivers avalible on the liveCD and even if it cant find them it has nidswrapper on the live cd to allow the use of windows drivers

not sure about other distros but it wouldn't surprise me if others did this now
