How to connect in localhost for RH8.0?

Hi

Been trying very hard to get hook up for the local IP address: 192.168.1.118 for RH8.0 Apache Server.

It keeps saying unable to view page. I have setup the index.html under the /var/www/html/mydomain but it still not showing.

I had re-installed my RH8.0 more than 5 times ... and still can't get it working.

The next thing is the MySQL Server. It keeps saying I have entered the wrong username or password. Very frustrating as I am unable to login the database. Any clue as how I can re-create the password? I had tried the module config but still does not work.

Please help if you know how to.

Thanks!

Regards
Edward Han

As for your first question, I guess I'm not sure what you are trying to do. Do you want to be able to access web pages by entering http://192.168.1.118 in your browser?

For the MySQL problem, it would be helpful if you posted what you actually type and the error messages you get back. However, as a starting point, you may have to do one of two things. If you haven't set up the initial permissions following these instructions , you really need to do so.

If you have followed those intial setup procedures, you can change the root password by following this procedure.

Hi

Sorry. Don't get what you mean.

I am trying to connect my MS Windows PC with my current RH8.0 PC so to transfer some files from MS to RH.

Have been trying to connect using CuteFTP as to login using the root username and password. But it was denied.

Do you know of any way I can connect in LAN?

Regards
Edward Han
