How to configure xmms to use my sblive value emu10k1 midi synthesizer

I'm using Slackware 12.0 KDE 3.5 on this computer.

I'm using ALSA and my sound works fine. However, I want to configure xmms to use my midi synthesizer. I know that the timidity plugin is for emulated sound, but I want to be able to play midi files off of xmms by using my emu10k1 midi synthesizer. Where do I begin? Is there a module I have to load up? I already have the emu10k1 midi selected under system--settings--sound & multimedia--sound system--hardware--midi device.

Soundblasters use a soundfont that loads into memory. So download a soundfont.I use Synergi.
http://soundfonts.homemusician.net/c...nergi_8mb.html
ftp://ftp.lysator.liu.se/pub/awe32/soundfonts/
Put it some where..I use /usr/share/sounds/sf2/
Youll need to install awesfx
http://www.alsa-project.org/~tiwai/awedrv.html
I add this to my /etc/rc.local so the soundfont loads up on boot...
Code:
modprobe snd-emu10k1-synth
aweset init
asfxload /path/to/soundfont/soundfont.sf2
I have a Audigy2 and use asfxload.
http://alsa.opensrc.org/index.php/Asfxload
If you install aconnectgui and vkeybd you will be able to route it and play your midi sounds with your keyboard.

Great, have done most of the stuff. I'm getting excited. However, I'm trying to install kmid-1.7.tar.bz2, but when I configure I get

Code:
checking for socket in -lsocket... no
checking for X... configure: error: Can't find X includes. Please check your installation and add the correct paths!
Where can I get the X server includes? I checked the x.org and other sites and have found debian packages. Where can I get the includes as source? I also tried playing midi files in xmms, with the timidity plugin enabled and the midi files simply wouldn't play.

Also, I checked /usr/include/xorg and all the xorg headers are there, so in the Makefile.in of the kmid-1.7.tar.bz2

The line commented out was the default. I added the new line which points to the headers for xorg and even then I get the same error.

Code:
X_INCLUDES = /usr/include/xorg
#X_INCLUDES = @X_INCLUDES@
I also tried using
[CODE
configure --x-includes=/usr/include/xorg --x-libraries=/usr/lib/xorg/modules
[/CODE]

still no dice.

The last time I used Slackware I believe Kmidi was already installed by default??It should have been installed as part of kdemultimdedia package..So it should already be installed
