How to configure the kernel

How to configure our kernel? For example, in RH9, if we navigate to /usr/src/linux-x directory and run the command make config or make menuconfig or make xconfig, we can configure the kernel, such as setting the processor type, storage devices, network and etc..... Whats the command for FC5?

did you tried the same commands for it ???
As far as i know the same commands will work, you just have to take care whether you are compiling 2.4.x kernel or 2.6.x.

make: *** No rule to make target `menuconfig'. Stop.
