Unhappy How to configure printing using the C652_SERIES_LINUX_v3

I have unzipped a Konica Minolta file at:
http://onyxftp.mykonicaminolta.com/d...productid=1183

I currently have it stored in a CUPS folder, unfortunately it is in my home directory. I am running 9.10 Ubuntu on a Dell latitude D830.

Can anyone tell me the correct path to install the CUPS folder so I can actually get something to print? Oh, and i am trying to get on a printer at work that is networked. i have full admin privileges as an Ubuntu user, but I am missing something really big. See posts below.

Currently I have tried:

sudo mv /home/angela/CUPS1.1/English/KOC652UX.ppd /usr/share/ppd/openprinting/

without success even when restarting the computer.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you have the package "openprinting-ppds" installed,
you will see that the other KONICA_MINOLTA are here :

/usr/share/ppd/openprinting/KONICA_MINOLTA/
example ..
/usr/share/ppd/openprinting/KONICA_MINOLTA/KOC550UX.ppd.gz

Suggest : 1)
sudo cp KOC652UX.ppd /usr/share/ppd/openprinting/KONICA_MINOLTA/

2) make a backup of the file in /home/<user>/ ( again )
.. and : a) gzip KOC652UX.ppd
b) sudo cp \
KOC652UX.ppd.gz /usr/share/ppd/openprinting/KONICA_MINOLTA/

((If nothing works like you expect it to do, you can try :
sudo cp KOC652UX.ppd /etc/cups/ppd/
.. where it also should be after the printer setup)).
.....

This seems like it should work, yet I keep getting error messages like <cannot stat `KOC652UX.ppd': No such file or directory>.

OK, it looked like it was finally starting to work, but when I got to the end it said "cannot locate printer XYZETC" I am trying to network with the printer as an admin, which in hindsight seems like it would have been a smart thing to say upfront. I have been given full administrative powers by the IT people here (on my Ubuntu partition) because they don't know a thing about Linux and frankly, are scared of me. What am I missing???
