how to configure ethernet card to browse on windows network
 
Im a newbie as you can see, i just installed linux Os but my network card that had been functioning well while im using microsoft windows refused to work. all i got was ~Unable to configure network card because the kernel drvice is not present~
Please how can i go about this i want my system to browse

So, did you find out what network card model you have ? Then search here:
http://www.linux-drivers.org/
or try to google "mycardmodel linux driver" or similar...

A good place to start is by using windows to help us. Windows if it was working would have clues as to the nic card you want to try to get to work.

Three ways a nic can work in linux. One is the linux disto has support built in. Two is you add in a driver and three may be that you can use windows drivers.

Do you know what type of nic you have?

Thank You guys,
i shall find out what sort of Nic card im having probably by returning my microsoft O/S because there"s no way i can acess the internet with Linux talkless of downloading the driver. Once im able to do that i shall return to linux.thank you.
