How to configure a linux server?
Hi all,
im fairly new to linux. i want to setup a linux box as a server (for experience). i want to run dhcp, file, print, firewall/proxy server. Can anyone please direct me in the right direction to get started (advice, books,e-books, etc..). im currently using slackware Ver.10 on my laptop and im loving it. im basically doing this to get the experience and more understanding in linux.:rolleyes: :newbie: |
well, if you are going to install a linux server, the best link i can give you is obiusly:
www.debian.org (;)) this is THE linux distribution for linux servers... if you have more time and if you like to lern more abbout linux, i'll recomend you to taka a look under www.linuxfromscratch.org/ if you try this, you'll understand the most important parts of a linux system. but only do this if you have enough time! there are a lot of tutorials and howtos telling how to install servers and so on... just google it! have a nice shell-login!!!!! leg, |
