how to change the default font used by xpdf?

i am using xpdf xpdf-3.00-5 in fc2.
whenever i start xpdf, a warning will show up:
Warning: Cannot convert string "-*-times-medium-r-normal--16-*-*-*-*-*-iso8859-1" to type FontStruct
i did xlsfonts | grep times-medium but could not find this one, instead sizes 14, 17 and 18 exist, not size 16.
i opened /etc/xpdfrc but could not find anything about this font type, only things like:
displayFontT1 Times-Roman /usr/share/fonts/default/Type1/n021003l.pfb
displayFontT1 Times-Italic /usr/share/fonts/default/Type1/n021023l.pfb
displayFontT1 Times-Bold /usr/share/fonts/default/Type1/n021004l.pfb

but i have no idea how this affects the default font type used by xpdf.
i also looked into the output generated by: xrdb -query but could not find anything about FontList.

so what shall I do to remove this annoying message?
thanks!
