How to set a compuer currently booting with grub.conf to boot with LILO

There's usually a gui to control a whole variety of system settings, and the bootloader is ceratinly set in there somewhere. So look for the section concerning booting/bootloader. You'll see there the option to use LILO or GRUB. Just select LILO.

Hmmm....I have NEVER seen the bootloader setup in the GUI menus. Do you have an example?

Why???? What problem are you trying to solve? GRUB is generally preffered, and is easier to get help with.
Have you looked at the LILO site for instructions?

Mandriva / Pclinux and Suse have centralized config menus. The boot loader is included.
Otherwise, you could just enable a particular boot loader in the command line by typing it's name with options.
For example:
lilo

or

grub


However, I think grub is my choice.

Some distros supply only Grub and not Lilo. Others would do exactly the opposite.

Big gun distros will have them both.

If Lilo is there it will answer the call of
with which you can configure Lilo to boot the Linux.

I think he wants to use the GUI. You need to go into Control Center (YaST) and in there, under system (I think), you'll find an option for bootloader. Select what you want under there and you'll be good to go.

I didn't pick up the original poster was using Suse or Suse-based distro which has Yast.

The distribution he has is Red Hat EL4. Have I missed something?
