How to change display settings Fedora 8 using terminal

How do I change my display settings on Fedora 8 using the Teminal. I set my monitor setting way to low and now I cant find the toolbar. So if someone will explain how that would be great. Also, I am new to Fedora and am not familiar with the terminal so be as descriptive as possible.
