how to cgange resoliution

hi, im new to linux and i have mandrake. at first then i started everything was and then i restarted my pc everything became small...i can hardly read!

i dont know what the problem but maybe its because of resoliution? but i didnt even change it...btw im using kde.

and another question: has anyone tried to play battlefield1942 on linux? if so, can you tell me how? and how to run steam and play cs on linux would be nice to know too :>.

For your second question in the software forum is a special games part so you'll get that question answered there more easy I think.

If you want to change your resolution, there's a part in the KDE control center that does this thing, If your resolution is NOT in this list find your XF86Config-4 file. In there there's a part with resolutions listed add your new resolution to it and then you can change it with the KDE control center (maybe you have to restart KDE)

Change Resolution =
<Ctrl> & <Alt> & +/-

Meaning, to up resolution (make stuff smaller) press Ctrl Alt +
- Hold Ctrl and Alt, and press +
Ctrl Alt - to down resolution

in web site i found faq on how to install and it says:STEP 3: Install
Type "sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-1.0-6111-pkg2.run" to install the driver, then edit your X86Config file as appropriate. See the text README for more detailed instructions.

where do i have to type that ¨STEP 3: Install

ok, first off, where did you download the file to?
find out, then type this at a terminal: ($ indicates a prompt, do not type it)

Code:

$ cd /path/to/downloaded/file
$ ls
NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-1.0-6111-pkg2.run
$ sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-1.0-6111-pkg2.run

everything in italics is output, don't type it
now the breakdown:
cd /path/to/downloaded/file - change direcory to the downloaded file
ls - list the files in current directory
sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-1.0-6111-pkg2.run - execute said command
