how to burn .iso.asc????
 

I have burned .iso files lots of times but when I downloaded the .iso for the Slackware distro I got .iso.asc files and I can't figure out how to change them to .iso files that I can then burn. Anyone know how to help me?

iso.asc are signature files, i believe. You need the iso file

But I downloaded these files using the torrent from the Slackware site. It seems strange that what I needed wouldn't be there.

I should mention that I also got folders for each of the disks that have around 650MB of data in each of them.

Do I maybe just burn these files to disk?

hmmm, there should be iso.asc and iso files.

the first file is the iso, the second would be the iso.asc

I am just going to delete what I've got and download the files again. Maybe something got messed up with the torrent. If that doesn't do it for me I will try http to download. Thanks for your help.

ok, but as you can see the iso is 655 megs or so. You said you have a 655 meg file. What is it? cd to that dir and type

ls

Why download them again if you already have them?

asc is integrity file verification
