how to burn a bootable dvd with a pre-made iso?

i downloaded an openSUSE iso from distrowatch, and tried to burn it, but all k3b did was burn the image as a regular file onto the cd. do i need to get a different program to emerge the iso onto the cd to make it bootable, or do i just need to do it via terminal? everything i've found in searching how-to's just makes giant question marks pop up above my head and i'm sure there's an easy solution...any suggestions?

K3b has an option tu burn isos, they're not treated as a normal file.

When you download a linux distro:

- Download the iso
- Check the md5sum
- Burn iso using the "burn iso" option from K3b, not as a regular file
- You should have a bootable CD now, with lot of files (not just one .iso file)
