How to "bind" a folder on ftp server.

Hello

I have setup a ftp server on a NAS device. I have gotten lots of help (thanks Jochem), and the server is working fine.

Now I wish to use the "bind" option on a folder. I have tried this before and managed to bind the folder, but it was lost after restarting the server.

I guess I need some sort of script, that will wnable this bind on server startup.

I am a noob at linux, so I need some detailed explanation, on how to do this.

Hope you can help me out.

Best regards,
Casper

you mean auto mount remote/local folder to ftp server subdirectory ?

if yes.. you can edit /etc/fstab to do that.

I'm not aware of any "bind" option to a folder in FTP. Can you describe what you mean by this?

already my "noob-ness" shines:-) Yes. Mounting a remote folder:

I have username with access to ftp. once logged on to the ftp, there is a folder. This folder should be bound to a folder located at:

root/shares/internal/Casper/Musik

so how can do this?

Yes I can edit fstab.

---------------------------------------------

I also have a stupid question....I have tried mounting the folders..but, I have no idea what the path to the user (folder is). I can easily find the folder with the info (look above), but where can I find the users directory?!

Can someone tell me how to search? lol
