Question How to backup a single database using Percona XtraBackup?

Hi

How can i backup only one database from mysql and restore it back using Percona Xtrabackup tool?

I am on Centos 6.6 64Bit and i have a db 40GB Innodb tables....

I know how to do it for a full Mysql backup but i prefer to have a solution to backup/restore only my database and not any other mysql folders/files....

Thanks

Hi,

use the mysql dump command to dump the tables you're interrested in and backup those dump files.

Hi, I'm Percona's community manager. There is a post scheduled for tomorrow (Dec. 9) that will address this issue on Percona's MySQL Performance Blog. I'll try to remember to come back and post it here but just in case go to Percona's website tomorrow and it should be the top post.
