How to analyze logs?

Hi all,

I've successfully set up some services/programs like Postfix, Spamassassin and Apache on my server. They're all logging to several files. I'm looking for good ways to analyze those logs.

Does anyone know of a good program to read those logs and convert them to something more readable (preferably Web Based or for Windows since I don't have a Unix desktop yet).

Any other hints about logging and reading logs are off course always welcome.

Cheers everyone,

Maarten

There are HEAPS of log-analysers out there, some of them with
graphical/web-frontends ... go to http://freshmeat.net and
start searching :} .... I like logsurfer and MRTG for monitoring
and stats ...

Hi Tinkster,

Thanks for your reply! Indeed there are tons of log-analysers out there, but there seem to be very little for Windows (or I just can't find them).

So if anyone knows a good one for Windows, I really like to know that.

Thanks again,

Maarten

Create a freshmeat user-account
Search for
+log +analy*
In the result set, filter for Web environment

32 hits, easy enough for you to sieve through ;)

Cheers,
Tink
