how to alter bios settings in linux


hi all...

when i try to start vmware player it is giving error as The virtualization capability of your processor is already in use. Disable any other running hypervisors before running VMware Player. so i need to disable kvm and qemu in bios setttings...how can i accomplish this...

can anyone help me please

Hi,

If you indeed need to reset/set BIOS setting then just reboot an enter your BIOS to make the needed changes.

Just a minor correction to start with. KVM and QEMU are software apps, not BIOS controllable settings. What you need to do is use your distro's package manager to either remove or disable those two pieces of software.

P.S.
What distro are you using and what hardware is it on?

Are you sure you want to disable the virtualization extension of your processor completely? It looks like you need to quit other applications that use it...
