How to adjust contrast/brightness

I have Kubuntu 6.06 and fglrx display driver.

I'd like to adjust the contrast/brightness settings of my monitor, but I'm able to find only gamma settings (from ATI Control and System settings -> Display).

Any help would be appreciated.

Can't you set it with your monitor?

what laptop? It is going to be a combination of function key + something
Look in kde settings / properties /monitor (cannot remember menu)
look for Kmilo as well

But beware, I am not convinced the key combination always work
I have a laptop on which I cannot change the contrast.
This is because acpi does not work well, and/or how acpi module
handle function keys. Sorry I cannot help more than that

JussiKp,
You don't say what sort of laptop you have.
I have a sony vaio, and got the brightness and volume function keys working with kubuntu6.06 by installing fsfn.

My laptop is Acer TM8104WLMi. There is no contrast control buttons. On Windows I was able to adjust contrast/brightness/gamma from ATI Control Panel.

I got this straight from the Acer manual available at Acer.com:

Fn + right arrow will increase brightness
Fn + left arrow will decrease brightness

So you can adjust the brightness with the keyboard, contrast no, gamma no. Have you installed the ATI driver for Xorg yet? I've never used an ATI card in linux but there maybe a utility bundled with it to adjust gamma and contrast/digital vibrance.

I have installed xorg-driver-fglrx (http://wiki.cchtml.com/index.php/Ubu...allation_Guide)
