How to add record to ldap server

I have a old testing ldap server , I have server root password but lost the admin password of ldap , now I would like to use ldapsearch to check data in it , as I do not have password so I can't do it , would advise how can I get back the password , or how can I search the data in it ?

Thanks

Hi,

You can use slappaswd to create a new admin password.
Then open slapd.conf and replace the rootpw value with the output of slappaswd. Make a backup first of the old password as it may be needed for some apps.
Don't forget to restart slapd

Regards

Hi,

To modify an entry you should use the ldapmodify command.
See this for various examples on its usage
