Question How to add background.xml file in Nemo?

I was having trouble with nautilus in Linux Mint 14 (disappearing desktop files and icons) so I uninstalled it, and now use Nemo alone. However, I cannot use my backgrounds.xml list to switch wallpaper. I have searched my directories. I have added the file to /usr/share/mate-background-properties, it is still in /usr/share/gnome-background-properties, but the images do not show up in the list of available images when I open the wallpaper switcher.

Does anyone know what I need to do make Nemo read my backgrounds.xml file. It seems to be fine with the other .xml files for the on-board images.
