I just recenetly got a new 160 gig seagate HD. I've set it up as a secondary drive, put a ext3 fs on, mounted it and it works like a dream. Now I want to reinstall linux on my primary drive ( mainly because I made a mess of it when i first installed it
) and use my secondary drive as the /home mount. I've made a copy of everything in /home directory/mount and put it on the 2nd drive.
I think I'm all set, but I want to make sure that everything goes smoothly and I don't loose all my data. Will I beable to assign the secondary HD as /home in the installation? Or would it be wise to install linux normally without linux knowing about the 2nd drive? While assigning a small /home mount to umount after the install is finishes and finally mount the 2nd drive as /home.
Thanks in advance.
