How od i install a program as root under suse 10/KDE.
 

I have downloaded a program via firefox onto the desktop and according to the installation instructions it should run when download is complete. However this is not happening and when i try to install using the installation software from KDE i'm told i do not have sufficient rights. How can i login as root and still be able to use the provided installation software. Thanks for any help.

what is the extension of the file?
just login as root and go to the place where you downloaded the file using konqueror or anything.

move them off the desktop to any other directory and try again. suse won't normally let you execute things from the desktop
