So if I just stick to 1 distro for the time being and it mucks up it and I have to do a install or change distros
it won't touch all my files on sda6?

If I want to change distros do I just do a normal install BUT do NOT format the sda6 partition.

What do I do with the swap Partition? Do I leave it alone too ?

Most distributions will recognize the swap partitions and use it automatically. There may be a few that don't do that, but it isn't to hard to add a swap partition to your /etc/fstab if that happens.
