Smile how ipaddress is assigned to new system in a network without OS


hi everyone,

I have question triggering my mind. how a dhcp server assign's ipaddress to a new machine in a network without OS in it. and also to do kickstart installation on it.

You are probably thinking about BOOTP or "Bootstrap Protocol." The Wikipedia page I linked to will give you a basic overview, but if you want the details, you'll need to read some RFCs (see the table at the end of the page).
