This is uncalled for!

This is a world community and the way some reflect their beliefs should be honored. The OP's salutations are within the guidelines. If you don't agree then just look past it.

No different in the manner that I sig a post. Just different content.

The OP did provide feedback and in her way blessed the participants. Nothing wrong!

Just because I don't believe in her religion doesn't mean that I shouldn't answer her Linux questions!

That's one of the reasons the Americas revolted from English rule. Judgmental or dictatorial!

To reinforce bigotry or participate is not something that should be allowed here on LQ.

I didn't say that! Just that one should respect or honor the position.

onebuck you are way off base... members should keep their politics and religion to themselves, this is a forum to learn and talk about Linux... and have fun if possible.

And to show just how wrong you are...

I don't believe any apology is necessary. My example stands! I don't care if your English or not. No assumptions were made by me. Reread my post, no where did I state anything about you except we should not tolerate this style or conduct.

Fun at who's expense?

To make direct attacks on someone is wrong. Especially someone who happens to be a newbie and really is not fluent with interaction on a forum. Salutation from the newbie shows her stance. If you cannot look past or understand that then you do fit the mold.

Just about everything you have said is assumed, thats why you are getting it wrong and choosing to be divisive rather than cohesive... "apology is the defence of Christianty" so I am sorry if I have upset any good person/s... on the other hand if I have upset some evil...well then LOL lets lighten up and thanks for "zero post cleared" Hugh

Quit reading things into my post. I never said anything about you or for you to get lost. I stated from my position to castigate in the manner was wrong. No assumptions.

Where do you see assumptions is these posts? Where do you see divisive? Because of my stance against bashing a newbie for their salutation of appreciation? Grow up! This is a world community.
You cannot nor should you dictate that someone cannot speak in their societies stance or form. Learn to understand others perspective and how they communicate. Bigotry or making fun as some like to disguise in form is just that, bigotry.
That's what I am speaking of when you posted;

Fun? NO!
Wrong? Yes!
Bigotry? Yes!

The above should be clear enough. Unless you need a definition for each from the links?

I think people need an opportunity to cool off... this whole
discussion is totally inappropriate in the context of a technical
thread in Newbie; heck, I wouldn't even accept the way this
was going in General.

My apologies to the OP: I'd be happy to reopen your
thread in a few days if you believe there's any benefit
in it, and I apologise for our "kids" above who seem
have thrown their toys out off the cot.

Cheers,
Tink
