How do you lookup your IP ADDRESS?

Is there a command that would list your current IP Address on FC6?

open up a terminal and type something like
Code:
/sbin/ifconfig
You may have to "su" to root first though, I can't remember.

Of course, if you're behind a router, that will only give you the internal IP

If you want the external one there are lots of ways to get it. I just goggled "what is my IP address" and came up with http://www.whatismyipaddress.com/

Thanks for the alternative. I didn't think of it that way. Although admittedly he really didn't provide the information to tell us which IP he wanted. They could be synonymous depending on the situation. Always nice to have both solutions though.

Thanks.
