How do you expire a password in Redhat linux?

As an administrator requests come to me to reset passwords in REDHAT linux. I reset it to a password that the user and I know. On other unix O/S's I can expire the password so the user is forced to change the password when they first login. In HPUX I use this command "passwd -f username", this does not work in REDHAT. Does anyone know a command I can use in REDHAT?

You might want to look at 'man passwd' there are a number of options listed there.
