How do you detect a newly self installed eithernet card?

I just bought a new eithernet card. I installed it. When the screen came up, I accidently skipped it. How can I get the card installed without the disk that the card came with. The disk doesnt work.

Try this as root user.........
kwrite /etc/sysconfig/hwconf look for the network section class: NETWORK and remove that section all the way down to the next class. Save and exit.
Now you can run the command: kudzu or reboot which will run the kudzu hardware detection.

alternatively shutdown, remove the new card, reboot, check whether kudzu complains about a missing component, allow it to remove the config, shutdown again; Put the card back and reboot. Now wait for kudzu to re-detect the new hardware and configure it for you.
