how do you check if.....
your isp blocks ports 80 and 25?
|
If you have dynamic IP, the ports are blocked. If you've got static (global) one, ask someone to
telnet yourip 80 telnet yourip 25 and send you the results. if you've got the services up and the second persopn can't connect it's because of your ISP (or because of your firewall). |
yea i do have a dymaic ip. I get the webserver up around the ip by changing the port. but i would i get sendmail to work and with it going though a router to.
|
I think you need a domain name. There are providers allowing you to assign a domain to a dynamic IP. Unfortunately I don't remember any. Please search this site, it's mentioned from time to time...

yea i have a domain name. but i want an email like webmaster@mysite.com.
i have my websites forwarded though a router can i do my emails? |
Usually you can. Just star a service and ask anyone to connect. You'll see if it works. If not, call your ISP and ask if they can forward it for you. It's easy and it's not a problem for them.
