How Do I Watch Videos .MPG?

What do I use to watch mpegs?
I am new to RH8.
I installed using personal desktop option.

Install mplayer or xine- they are very good. They should be on your distro cd's. what distro are u talking about?

there are video players on the discs you have, but they are restricted versions, due to the potentially dubious legal status of decoding closed source codecs without license from the vendors. Please understand why this is the case.

install xine or mplayer and don't forget install de win32codecs !!!

how do i install the codecs? i download and unzip them already... can't make or install them

punt the codes in /usr/lib/ an make a dir win32 and punt inside
/usr/lib/win32
