How do I watch an actual DVD from Blockbuster on Linux?

I keep running into all of these obstacles.

Kaffeine is listed as the default player for this, but it does not have the right codecs.

As far as I can tell, most of my other video players, including Mplayer, are not set up to play a DVD that doesn't have an actual filename. I thought that surely I could get Realplayer to make it work, but it is saying Unknown File Format and the "Player is up to date".

Any ideas?

mplayer should work with a simple "mplayer dvd://" command - no filename needed

You will most likely need DeCSS. Technically it is illegal to view a DVD on a Linux machine in the US, because as far as I know there are no legal licensed decoders available for Linux.. (oh Maybe Linspire has a licensed one..)

DeCSS is capable of descrambling the content protection system on a DVD so you can watch it on a Linux machine.

Check the video playback section at this LINK
