how do i view linux server on my windows machine?

how do i view linux server on my windows machine? i'm trying tightVNC, but I can't get it to listen for my computer to connect (like i do on my windows machines). is there another way? if there isn't, could you help me configure my webserver so that it'll host my sites (yeah, plural)?

thanks,
_Matt

I don't quite understand the question. Modem volumes can be varied, so turn on the sound for your modem if you want to hear it.

Samba is usually used to serve files. See the SMB HOWTO.

Apache is used to serve web sites.
