How do I upgrade from Fedora 5 to 6

I plan to upgrade my RH Fedora core 5 to core 6 and I'm not sure how to do it of what to expect. Do I scrub core 5 and install 6 or is there an easy way to upgrade without loosing everything I've got so far? I'll be taking the Intro to Unix and Linux class next quarter at school. I hope that a lot of my questions will be answered there. MT

Backup data files
Download FC6 and burn to a CD
Boot from CD and install

You can also, have FC5 and 6 both on the same machine--just make another partition.

Thanks for the encouragement. I'm glad that the developers have made this a smooth process. I continue to be suprised and pleased by this OS. This looks like the beginning of a beautiful friendship with Linux. MT
