How do i uninstall ubuntu 12.04 from 2nd partition

I need to know how can i successfully ininstall 12.04lts from my second partition of my laptop.i can't find any 'uninstall'folder anywhere, though i've done a thorough search.i've even tried to reboot it over the previous installation, without success.why do i want to do this?it wasn't installed correctly and its missing some package, that prevents it from updating or downloading anything successfully.so its a 'crippled'install.thanks for any help

I'm assuming that you have Windows 7 on one partition and Ubuntu on the other. Follow the steps here to remove Ubuntu completely.

Install over the same partition and select to format that partition during the installation. It's an operating system, not an application so there is no uninstall folder.

Do you mean you are trying to install it over the previous installation? If so, what happens? errors? messages? And this is Ubuntu 12.04?

Redd9 thanks for your reply. My answer to your question;'NO I don't have Win7 installed on my main partition,I've got Win XP Pro.And that's what I wanted to change.I tried to install Win 7 Pro on my main partition, but it kept coming back telling me I needed to update my BIOS to be able to install Win7.So I did that, from a V1.20 to a V 1.30,and it still told me the same thing
Toshiba gives you no recommendations of what BIOS to update on this machine, except I seen,if I had Vista installed, then I'd need a V3.20,Bios.I tried downloading that and it tells me its not compatible with my computer. That's why I installed Ubuntu 12.04 on my 2nd partition, because I thought if it didn't work there,it wont work at all.So even though it works & I can get up on the internet, and listen to music I was able to download to Rythmbox,it still tells me certain packages are missing to be able to get 'plug-ins' for music downloads,or any updates.I can't open the 'software center',it just opens & then disappears.
In one section of the read 'files',it said the inability to download or open up programs, could be the result of an old or outdated BIOS.SO BACK TO SQUARE ONE IF THAT'S THE PROBLEM.I was thinking of wiping the whole disk with DBAN KILLDISK,but then I thought;'what if I cant install any other OS after doing this?I've also tried to install over the same partition Yancek, but could not find any format on that partition, while running the disk in drive,it just opened up to the password, which I put in to proceed. It would be a lot easier if I could meet in person and have you look at in Melbourne.I haven't been able to find any Ubuntu workshop groups in Melbourne yet? Thanks,Scott

I don't understand what you are saying. You have a functioning Ubuntu install, correct? You had/have another Ubuntu install on a separate partition?? If you want to find the filesystem type open a terminal and enter: sudo parted -l
