from command prompt enter kmix and you can adjust volume

what desktop are you using? if kde, try entering kmix in a terminal.

that worked, thanks :) I'm on KDE 3.1, which brings me to my next question. I have downloaded qt-3.2.3-0.fdr.8.1.i386.rpm from KDE.org, I went to run it and got the message /usr/lib/qt-3.1 not found. I did a searcha dn found it, it is there. How do I tell the rpm it's there?
