If you have apache running, simply type "http://localhost" on your Browser. You should also be able to test it by typing "http://machine_IP". To run Apache, type:

apachectl start

However, SuSE has a "special" way to start Apache, it is:

rcapache2 start

If you are behind a router/firewall, you will need to forward the Port 80 (Apache's default) by going on your router's configuration, so all traffic hitting your IP number will be forwarded to the machine running apache.

Good luck!

What does it happen when you type "apachectl start" as root, on the console?. A while ago, a friend in this forum needed help setting up a server, take a look into this thread:

Hope this helps.
