How do I solve this Sound Problems on FC3?
I upgraded from RH9 to FC3. On RH9 I couldn't play any sound as it didn't provide support for my ALi sound card. On FC3 I am able to play Audio CDs only if I am logged in as 'root'. Other accounts just generate a 'Drive Error -->' message on the player.
Any ideas on what d problem might be? |
What are the entries for your cdrom devices in your /etc/fstab, mine are as follows,
/dev/hdc /media/cdrecorder auto pamconsole,fscontext=system_u:object_r:removable_t,exec,noauto,managed 0 0 /dev/hdd /media/cdrom auto pamconsole,fscontext=system_u:object_r:removable_t,exec,noauto,managed 0 0 By the way, those entries should be on one line. |
Contents of /etc/fstab
/dev/hdc/media/cdrom pamconsole,ro,exec,noauto,managed 0 0 (d system is an old Toshiba Satellite s1800-204 with just a CD-rom) |
Contents of /etc/fstab
/dev/hdc/media/cdrom auto pamconsole,ro,exec,noauto,managed 0 0 |
Create a backup of your /etc/fstab and make your entries similar to mine and see if it works. This is trial and error, so may or may not work.
