How do I setup Quotas

Hi

I am looking for a general 'How to' on setting up disk quotas on a Linux system. Can anyone point me in teh right direction or perhaps tell me what I need to do in order to accomplish this?

Thanks!

You need two things. A kernel that has quota's enabled (they are not by default), and quota management software (should have come with your box). Also, if you are using ReiserFS, quotas will not work.

Is there a way to check to see if it is enabled? Where would I find out how to enable it if I need to?

If its enabled, you'll know by a lengthly bootup that will check quota'd filesystems, you can't miss it. There are several ways to enable it, though, my favorite is through webmin

There's a nice quota howto over at www.tldp.org -- find it at:
