How do I run the DDclient running

Hello,
How do I run the ddclient on opensuse 11.2 64 bit ?
How do I check its running ok ?.
Installed version is ddclient-3.8.0-5.2.x86_64
Thanks Glenn

I need to use the DDclient to update dynamic DNS entries for
a account on Dynamic DNS Network Services free DNS service www.opendns.com

Here is a sample /etc/ddclient.conf file I'll use, with changes to user/pass.

# ============== file start ==========
# Basic configuration file for ddclient
#
# /etc/ddclient.conf
daemon=600
pid=/var/run/ddclient.pid
use=web, web=checkip.dyndns.org/, web-skip='IP Address'
login=opendns_username
password=opendns_password
protocol=dyndns2
server=members.dyndns.org
wildcard=YES
linux.site
# custom=yes, example.com
# =============== file end =================

The exact setup is bound to be distro specific and I'm not experienced with opensuse. Did you read the documentation in /usr/share/doc/packages/ddclient/?

Cheers,

Evo2.

"sudo /usr/sbin/ddclient start" will start it. You an use "chkconfig" or YaST2 to enable services to start automatically.
Reading the documentation is a good idea anyway.
rpm -ql ddclient will show you the files installed by the ddclient package.
