how do i run shell script?


how do i run shell script? i'm trying to install this one anti-virus and i can't seem to get it to install the anti vius is called avast and i can't sem to run it in the terminal if do this what is as after i type sh install it says:

[root@downloads tmp]# sh install
install: /usr/bin/install: cannot execute binary file
what the hack is binary file?
do i need to install a program or what?

Try

[root@downloads tmp]# ./install

instead of

[root@downloads tmp]# sh install

chmod 777 install


then

./install

try the following commands with your install file:

chmod +x ./install

then run the install file:

Code:
./install
