It warned me that I didn't have a "swap partition" but that it was ok not to have it. Do you want me to make a swap partiton or continue with the install?

Ok, just finished with the install and it is going thru a checklist....

-Updating configuration
-Copying files to installed system
->Installing boot loader

....and here is where I get the pop-up box....

"The LILO boot sector has been written to disk. Restore the old boot sector in the installed system with "lilo -u /dev/hda" and then I have to click "ok"

I clicked "ok" and the screen went black with the little "X" on the screen (representing the mouse). I think it locked up again at this point. What do you want me to do? :-)

The good news is LILO lets me boot into Linux, but I am still trying to finish the install.

It worked I can boot into Linux and use KDE. I just have a few things to iron out. One problem that I have is this error message I get after booting up....

"Sound server informational message:
Error while initializing the sound driver:
device/dev/dsp can't be opened (No such device)

The sound server will continue, using the null output device."

So at this point I have Linux installed and running, just trying to iron out a few things.

Any idea on the sound problem

Oh yeah, my motherboard has onboard sound, and it has worked under linux before.

Thanks,

Joe
